Giada HPF – Gold Luck / Al Capone / SPS Matcho, April 2009

With her beautiful big eyes, her expressive Hanoverian ears, and rich liver chestnut coat – Giada proved irresistable to me. I thank Jamie Lawrence for trusting me with Giada, to commence her life as a broodmare following a successful dressage career through second level, with scores ranging from 70% to 75%.

When I began breeding, I had much admired the US-based stallion “Gold Luck”, with his Grundstein / Absatz pedigree. He was a consistent producer of striking youngsters and competitive dressage horses through the late 90’sand early 2000’s. Giada also has a wonderful Hanoverian pedigree through her dam-line – Al Capone by the great Argentan, with SPS Matcho AA and SPS Lombard on the bottom, adding a touch of refinement.

Key for me, Giada is possessed of the two most important qualities I seek in a broodmare: a gentle, trusting, nature and correct, quality movement. I look forward to finding interesting matches for Giada, and to breeding wonderful foals for SunnyDays Hanoverians.

Early on April 27th, Giada delivered a gorgeous, typey black filly, by the exciting new stallion “Romeo”, SPT winner by Romanov / Wolkentanz. We are calling her “Regina Coeli”, Queen of the Heavens. Regina Coeli is pictured to the right, at almost 6 months old.

For April 2019, Giada is in foal to the remarkable stallion “Finest” by Furstenball / Wie Weltmeyer / Prince Thatch xx. (video below, picture below right). Finest is a striking stallion, with excellent interior qualities, who stamps his offspring with beauty and gaits. In fact, Finest had the most sons selected for the 2017 Hanoverian stallion licensing(9), where one of his sons achieved the second highest price of 360,000 euros. I think he will cross nicely on Giada, adding a little refinement, maintaining the temperament and power.

UPDATE: An exquisite black filly born April 5, 2019. “Fine Art” exceeds our high expectations. And in 2020, a second Finest filly Fine Design– a type bay with top gaits, excellent conformation and intelligent, friendly nature, sold quickly to a wonderful Canadian family.
UPDATE: Giada’s 2021 filly by Sir Heinrich is a standout. Chutzpah, extravagant movement and showmanship “Special Attraction” sold immediately to a Canadian Grand Prix rider. She also earned a coveted “Gold Medal Foal Award” from the Hanoverian Verband.
